0 have signed up & 30 openings remain.
LearningQuest's mission is empowering adults through educational services and improving self-reliance for the family.
Do you love to read and/or write? Would you like to share your passion by teaching someone how to read? Volunteer tutors work one-on-one to help adult learners improve reading and writing skills - many students are below 7th grade literacy levels. Our Literacy Tutoring office is located at the I St. Stanislaus County Library, but tutoring sessions can be scheduled in any public place. Volunteer tutors are matched with students based on scheduling, skill level, and other important factors. Our staff is on hand for any needed assistance and look forward to meeting with you!
- Must be 18 or older;
- Able to communicate in English;
- Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months to meet with an adult learner twice a week (90 minute sessions);
- Participate in our tutor training (prior to becoming a tutor).
All tutoring supplies and training are provided for this six (6) month commitment both tutors and students make to each other.
Hours: Flexible. Work out your schedule with your mentee.
