Description:

The International Rescue Committee helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future.

Under the supervision of the Volunteer and donations Coordinator, child watch volunteers will supervise refugee children while their parents are attending IRC classes.

  • Responsibilities include:
  • - Supervising up to 10 children at a time; 
  • - Keeping young people entertained by reading to them, playing games, or supervising projects;
  • - Assist with other office-related tasks when needed.

 

  • Requirements:
  • - Must be at least 18 years old

     

  • - Apply and attend an IRC orientation

     

  • - Be interviewed by IRC staff

  • - Complete a background check

  • Hours:  Minimum commitment:  4 hrs/week for 4 - 6 months
