Lots of people in the Modesto area are going to sleep each night wondering where they will get enough healthy food for their household in the next week, or clothing to replace the frayed things that their kids presently wear. A manager at an area food-bank told me that she was one of those people years ago when she and her mom came to Modesto. They went to the food-bank several times, where they were blessed by the generosity of others. Now she is giving back by working at that same food-bank! Many of us also feel prompted to help in a tangible way, but ask: ‘How I am going to do that?’ Please join us in a drive to collect food, clothing and household goods for distribution in our area through a local food-bank and FIGS (formerly Interfaith Ministries). Volunteers can participate in two ways. First, during the week prior to Oct 9 we encourage you to ask your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers for donations. These people could give the donations to you or could drop off the donation on Oct 9. Then on Sat, Oct 9 our volunteers will be at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church parking lot to receive donations, which will subsequently be taken to the distribution centers. When you sign up, I will contact you with more detailed information, including an informative flyer that you can give to the people that you speak with.

Love Modesto October 9th begins at 8:00 am online at LoveModesto.com/virtual-rally for our Virtual Rally. We will all meet here BEFORE GOING TO YOUR PROJECT LOCATION at 9:00 am.
When you arrive at your project location make sure to check in with you project leader. You will need to receive instructions from them on the specifics of your project.
Stanislaus County Public Health encourages volunteers to take appropriate safety precautions that include wearing face coverings, hand washing, social distancing, and staying home if you or someone in your household is sick.
Thank you for your willingness to "Love Modesto"! If you have any questions, please email contact@lovemodesto.com
